Workshop: Hot Climate Design Guide

This workshop aims to facilitate a discussion on the ASHRAE Hot Climate Design Guide. This guide covers best practices for designing energy-efficient, net-zero carbon buildings in hot climates to engineer healthy and productive environments for occupants and users to enjoy their natural indoor and outdoor environments during  hot and extreme weather periods, especially when extreme heat is becoming more common across the globe.  The guide explores sustainable vernacular approaches, passive and HVAC design strategies, equipment selection, hybrid systems, and external cooling. The document also aims to address the COVID-19 measures, and overall how to better design healthy and low energy building in an effort to create a resilient and healthy build stock in hot climates globally.
