Delegates and students from ASHRAE UK Midlands Chapter recently attended the ASHRAE Winter Conference 2023 in Atlanta, and it was an exciting and rewarding experience. Our chapter members participated in a range of activities and events, and several members received recognition for their contributions to the HVAC&R industry and ASHRAE Society.
At the Plenary Session of the ASHRAE Winter Conference 2023 on February 3rd, we were thrilled to see Prof. Mahroo Eftekhari receive the John F. James International Award. This prestigious award recognizes an ASHRAE member who has made significant contributions to enhancing the Society’s international presence. We were also proud to see Frank Mills receive his Fellowship for his substantial contribution to HVAC&R and science. Congratulations to both Prof. Eftekhari and Mr. Mills on their achievements!
Additionally, 22 students from UCLAN attended the winter conference, and it was a fantastic opportunity for them to learn and engage with the HVAC&R community. At the YEA hospitality event, Joshua Vasudevan received the Developing Leader Award. This award recognizes members who have started their involvement with ASHRAE early in their careers and have made significant contributions. Congratulations to Joshua on this well-deserved recognition!
Our chapter members participated in various technical committee meetings and networking events, such as the welcome party, Presidential Luncheon, and Member’s party. At the student program, our Building EQ winners, Joshua Vasudevan, Amr Suliman, Samuel John Sundar Selvaraj, and Ravi Teja Chikkala received their awards, and we were proud to see their hard work and dedication recognized.
Finally, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Mahroo Eftekhari on her nomination for the position of Director and Regional Chair (DRC) Region XIV. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors and look forward to continued collaboration and growth in the HVAC&R industry.
